Hi there, thanks for visiting. I’ll keep this short, but it is definitely a topic to meditate on (see Joshua 1:8). In the past I’ve always read the Bible as a history book – a description of events from the past, and things to look forward to in heaven. About 5 years ago we attended a healing school and worship service at The Living Savior Ministries (tlsm.org) in Texas. Afterward the Bible came to life as a reference book and study manual for my Christian life.
Consider Matthew 7:7, “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” In the past I thought that was a great statement by Jesus, but it was meant for the disciples and others back then. Now, I read that passage as Jesus speaking to me today – with specific instructions and expected results. I need to ask, and it will be given to me. But I need to have the right motives (James 4:3).
Look at the next verse, Matthew 7:8, “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” I’m an “everyone” so I should expect to receive, find, and have doors opened. These verses apply to all Christians today. But you need to take action first!
God bless you all.
